Every month we have a unique topic at the BiZHUB, and this is your monthly opportunity to deep dive and to discuss the issues your business may be facing during the Post Brexit period.
We have a great workbook with checklists and links to other support material that you will review in this interactive session. Allowing you to clarify any questions that have arisen since attending the two other talks this month. To download the workbook click the button below.
In this session we used break out rooms for the attendees to discuss the matters in depth (these are not in the BiZHUB video). However, you can review what you are unclear on, what you need to take action on and any other additional resources you need and contact us if you are unsure about any aspect of the recorded content or workbook. We hope that you and other members will choose to help each other and continue the support after the Collaboration Session.
This is a member only event, attend regularly and build your relationships with BiZHUB members and find other local business owners that you can collaborate with.
EVENT REVIEW
Of the many items discussed today here are what you need to know:
1) Keith Budden shared a top tip... "Do this today - add 'GDPR, UK GDPR' in your privacy notice where you only have 'GDPR'." He also suggests you review and ensure it is fully compliant, but that small change can help show you are adapting to the changes Brexit has thrown our way.
2) To find contracts to tender for use competefor.com, they bill themselves as a "Free supplier platform that enables businesses to compete for contract opportunities linked to large-scale public and private sector buying organisations.". May be worth reviewing
Visit: https://www.competefor.com
3) Citizens Advice service in Hants has been awarded a Covid Energy Grant by Hampshire County Council to help families pay bills and buy food: "Families and individuals struggling to cope financially, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdowns, are being reminded that help to pay for food and energy, as well as essential items, is available from the County Council's connect4communities programme via the Citizens Advice Service and local community groups across Hampshire"

4) Are you registered with the ICO? If you are a small business and you have not checked recently if you are or should be registered with the ICO then use their free online checking tool called the DPO ICO self assessment page below. "Under the Data Protection (Charges and Information) Regulations 2018, individuals and organisations that process personal data need to pay a data protection fee to the Information Commissioners Office (ICO), unless they are exempt."
You may have to pay a small fee to be registered with them. According to BiZHUB Member Andy Tree "...the ICO are calling up businesses and checking if they are registered". This may lead to less leniency in future if you are not registered and should be, don't get caught out, it'll take 5 minutes to check today!

5) If you use the new social media app Clubhouse then apparently you may want to buy a new .club domain! They are the thing to have on the new Social Media app that shows you are in the club and in the know! Buy one, redirect to your main website and if you use Clubhouse you get to share your funky new domain, which points to your website - you could grab something fun and interesting that says who you are and what you do. Thanks again to Keith Budden for the tip, he should have BiZHUB-GDPR-Hero.club, no?
